We believe the information is needed for "informed discussions
about the issues" and for reaching a "well- balanced and throughtful plan
for Amazon Park."
Your letter did not address CPA's information request. I trust
that we can arrange for a meeting to discuss how to gather together the
exising information that we seek. Your assistance in assembling this
information will be appreciated.
>INFORMATION THAT HAS BEEN REQUESTED BY CPA
> Hopefully, staff and council see the fiscal and political advantages
>of being forthcoming with existing information, and for considering
>reasonable alternatives for Amazon Park with broad community input. Any
>assistance you or other City Councilors can give us in assembling the
>following existing data, as requested by Citizens for Public Accountability,
>will be appreciated:
>1. USAGE
> A. Determine Amazon Park acreage and building space devoted to
>different types of activities
> and approximate annual hours of usage of these spaces. Both
>organized and daily recreational activities
> should be accounted for. Include any fields or courts
>maintained by the City.
• B. Estimate vehicle presence associated with different usages.
• C. Estimate lighting power (e.g., height, brightness)
> associated with different usages.
>2. COSTS
> A. Estimate bond, SDC and general fund expenditures on
>construction and maintenance of Amazon Park corridor
> areas devoted to different recreational activities.
> B. Determine approximate expenditures on these different areas
>during the past 10 years within Amazon Park.
> C. Show approximate income to Recreation and Parks associated
>with different recreational activities.
>3. BALLFIELD DATA
> Create a map of current soccer, base /softball fields on school and
>City properties and an inventory of ball fields
> that could be enhanced and areas that could be developed as ball
>fields.
> 4. COMMUNITY SURVEY DATA
> Collate existing formal community survey information that has been
>gathered within the last ten years
