General Environmental Protection/Restoration: Following acquisition, the Parks and Open Space Division
will develop a management plan based on site inventory and local expertise to protect, restore, and maintain
the natural resource values of the site. The City of Eugene has not only extensive experience with manage-
ment plans, but has developed a great deal of management expertise together with its local partners, includ-
ing the Bureau of Land Management and The Nature Conservancy. The management plan would include
proposed recreational hiking and biking trails sited so as to provide protection of the most sensitive natural
features, while also offering a unique opportunity to educate the public about these rare species and about
the overall Amazon Creek watershed, and the importance of its headwaters.
16. REQUIRED PERMITS — ACQUISITION & DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS —
a)List potential permits and status of permit applications that may be required for proposed
project (i.e. Corps of Engineers, Division of State Land, Building Permits, etc.)
b) Describe any possible delays or challenges that could occur in receiving permits.
There are no federal, state, nor local permits required to carry out the acquisition.
