November 5, 2001
Mr. Tim Rhay
Parks Dept.
City of Eugene
777 Pearl St.
Eugene, OR 97401
Mr. Rhay;
My apologies for not responding much sooner to your letter of September 28
which, in turn, was an answer to concerns I raised about conditions at the
Hayes Memorial Tree Garden. I was on vacation for most of October so did not
get your letter until I returned on October 20. I have had two weeks to write
this letter, but have managed to procrastinate until now.
In any case, I appreciate your offer to meet and discuss the particular and
general complaints I made, but do not think it necessary that you take the time
to do so. I know that you have met with Ms. Melina Neal who is also concerned
about the condition of and missing marker for the Acer Palmatum
"Trompenburg" planted in memory of Chilton Peterson. Melina has assured me
that her discussion with you seems to have resolved all of the questions which
have been raised. I am also assured by your letter that the general condition of
the Garden is a matter of concern to your department and that you will devote
such effort and care to the space as resources and budget constraints permit. I
want to thank you for your attention to this matter.
J Thibeau
3547 Sussex
Eugene, OR 97401
Y /
(,% / ' rem
