MEDLIN Johnny R
From: HALLETT Rob R
Sent: Monday, May 15, 2006 3:35 PM
To: RISDAL Lacey L
Subject: FW: Pre's Trail work schedule for 2006 -2007
Here you go.
- -- Original Message---- -
From: FINNEY Kevin P
Sent Wednesday, April 26, 2006 4:20 PM
To: 'Hughes, Geoffrey
Cc: HALLEIT Rob R; MCRAE Matt A; FINNEY Kevin P
Subject Pre's Trail work schedule for 2006 -2007
Dear Geoff:
Rob, Matt and I have refined the project list and schedule for the Pre's Trail work that we discussed with OTC
representatives at our meeting on January 6. Below is the list of projects that we have identified, in roughly the order of
their initiation. We are confident that we can complete these projects by the completion dates shown. Barring
unforeseen circumstances, all work should be completed by the fall of '07, at least six months ahead of the Olympic
Trials.
We have identified lead staff for each project and they are shown below. Rob will lead on all projects that are done
under contract or by City of Eugene staff. Matt will lead on all volunteer projects that are supported by City of Eugene
staff.
The City of Eugene's Pre's Trail Work for 2006 -2007
Project Completion Lead
1. Construct trail head at west end of the Green Loop (DONE) 2/06 Rob
2. Install lighting on relocated section of the Green Loop(DONE) 3/06 Rob
3. Construct retaining wall on Green Loop. 7/06 Matt/VIP
4. Complete trail construction at new curb on northern connector 6/06 Rob
5. Widen 3/4 mile of Green Loop from 6' to 8' 10/06 Matt/VIP
6. Construct new triangle connection at Green Loop 8/06 Rob
7. Place bark at new trail head on Green Loop 9/06 Rob
8. Install new Pre's Trail sign at new trail head on Green Loop 9/06 Rob
9. Reconstruct the north side of the Red Loop 10/06 Rob
10. Place bark on the east side of the Red Loop (along I -5) 10/06 Rob
11. Address drainage problems on the southern connector 6/07 Rob
12. Widen about 1 /2 mile of the western end of the Red Loop 10/07 Matt/VIP
13. Reconstruct the south side of the Red Loop 10/07 Rob
We have listed here the projects that are our top priorities for this time frame, based on our discussions with OTC
representatives. This is a list of the work the City intends to take on and is not meant to preclude any other work that
OTC might be interested in accomplishing. Please let us know what you think of the list. This is the list from which the
City will be making our resource planning decisions.
The sequencing of the projects was determined by Logistical and other considerations and we looked for the most
efficient way to approach the work in terms of our equipment, staff, and other resources. We can continue to offer Matt's
services to help with volunteer work parties at Pre's Trail for two weekend days and two week days per month. This is
the most efficient way for us to offer our staff and equipment support of the volunteer efforts. Matt's schedule fills up
quickly, so Matt will need to work with OTC closely, and soon, to book the dates for his work. As you have probably
heard, we have Tess funding flexibility this year than we did last year and, at this time, we cannot commit staff or
1
•
