Page -2-
around the country and around the globe. Pre's Trail represents Eugene as our
ambassador to the world.
In recent years, Pre's Trail has been better known around the world than in our own
community. Neglect and lack of funds had contributed to a growing obscurity in the
local area. We are changing this perception. As the trail work progresses local
recognition and use has significantly increased. Our vision to see Pre's Trail widely
used by our own community is being realized. Our aim is to make this a resource in
which we can all take pride.
That is where we are today. Community and civic involvement has greatly increased.
Where we go in the future is the purpose of this plan proposal.
Trail Specifications
Currently 'e consists of 3 loops designated-la color and connected by single
tracks. Recently Eugene Parks and Open Spaces has
contributed significant resources of equipment and manpower to assist in the
restoration. This serves to reinforce the private - public partnership.
Now, with the OTC's success in securing the 2008 Olympic Trials, there is an
imperative to finish the Trail restoration by fall of 2007 and corresponding amenities by
spring of 2008. The resources to complete the remainder of the restoration and
improvements will come from the OTC /OTCM and community donations and volunteer
labor, as well as, the assistance of the resources of Parks and Open Spaces.
