All three of
my children have been raised in the playground. I went to all of the early public park meetings
and the consensus of those who actually use the park was to keep it a soft green place for
children to safely play. I have met NO neighbors who use the park who want any more
concrete than necessary, nor any who want equipment. Some neighbors signed the concept
plan (I did not), having been given no other alternatives. For many it felt like a compromise,
knowing that if they didn't agree to the plan presented, they could be stuck with a plan of
higher impact. As concerned neighbors who live so close and who went to the early public
meetings, we would not have been informed of changes to the concept plan and changes
related to concrete paths and equipment if Beth had not kept us in the loop. Other neighbors I
have spoken to would not know about any of this, including the meeting Monday night, unless I
passed on the info that Beth gave to me. I feel that we have intentionally been kept out of the
loop.
Leonie Daniels
10/8/2007
