Community participation at these events has been
strong. Several truckloads of debris was removed from the Ponds
area, a diking project improved water flow, and over 200 persons
attended Delta Ponds wildlife lectures and field trips.
A landscape architecture class at the University of Oregon worked
with the Friends of Delta Ponds and the Eugene Stream Team
Volunteer Coordinator to develop an architectural proposal for a
Delta Pond Nature Park. That proposal will be presented at a
community forum Wednesday. May 31 at 7:00 p.m in Harris Hall, Lane
County Public Service Building
We welcome the attendance of City Council members and other
interested City staff at this event.
Attached is a copy of a relevant letter recently sent to the Eugene
City Council and Lane County Commissioners related to a Delta Ponds
Nature Park proposal.
For additional information contact Charles Patton (343 -2545) or
Iris Sayre (344 - 5145), members of Friends of Delta Ponds.
