Charles Vanlue
2859 Tomahawk Lane
Eugene, Oregon 97401
343 -9571 (H)
683 -5700 (W)
Dear Sir,
INTRODUCTION
My name is Chuck Vanlue, and I and my family reside
at 2859 Tomahawk Lane. I want to thank you for the
opportunity to express our concerns regarding this
proposal, and hope that you consider them before a
final decision is made.
My conc - erns fall into four general categories:
Noise, Lighting, Traffic, and Alcohol Use.
NOISE
First and foremost, I am concerned with the
potential increase in noise. Although we are
approximately two blocks south and west from Ascot
Park, we can clearly hear the noise from the playing
fields today. The whistles, cheers, coaches, and
screams echo in our backyard from 7:30 in the
morning to dusk every weekend, and from 3:00 in the
afternoon to dusk every week day. This is virtually
year round.
The thought that we are to be subjected to this same
noise into the evening, as we are attempting to put
our children to sleep, is clearly unacceptable.
The potential addition of a PA system causes
additional _concern_ We are already subjected to the
noise from Autzen_ How loud would this system be?
I would strongly suggest the PA system be eliminated
from this proposal.
TRAFFIC
My second concern is one of additional traffic.
Currently, Tomahawk Lane is experiencing a large
increase in traffic due to drivers "cutting through"
