Working maps will be helpful for future meetings. <br /> Definition of terms: <br /> Existing open space: <br /> - Private -- golf courses, cemeteries, private schools, nonprofit (The Nature Conservancy, <br /> Wildlife Rehab Center), utility power lines, planned acquisitions, floodplain, greenway, <br /> waterways, steep slopes, nonbuildable areas <br /> - Public -- school district, university, county, state, federal, city -owned and controlled, <br /> EWEB <br /> Park: <br /> Council has defined what is not open space. Try to shoehorn everything into one of these: neighborhood, <br /> community, metropolitan. Tot lots /pocket parks. <br /> We can begin with a view of the city that is tied to natural resources, landscape, watersheds, service areas. <br /> * 1000' scale map - Skinner's Butte, Pisgah, Armitage, Fernridge - laminate. (Sharon) <br /> Criteria: <br /> Parks - existing documentation available <br /> Open space - connectivity, water quality, recreational, habitat protection, education, watershed <br /> protection, threat of being lost <br /> * John Etter will give two lists of acquisition criteria based on policies as to acceptance of open space <br /> dedication. <br /> Data needs and availability: <br /> Current land use through June 1992. This is okay. Ed asked about building permit data. <br /> We'll need to anticipate question about how much has been lost in the last four years.
