The
Oregon Parks and Recreation Dep. lent received 48 applications fequesting almost $6 million
in funding assistance.
The Oregon Parks and Recreation Commission have approved the priority list established by
staff and the Local Government Advisory Committee at their September 2, 2004 meeting in
Baker City. The priority lists for funding large and small grant requests are attached.
The Local Government Advisory Committee established the priority list for funding assistance
for large grant requests. Projects number 1 through 8 will be funded.
A committee of three OPRD staff scored and established the priority list for funding assistance
for small grant requests. Projects 1 through 8 will be funded.
For those projects that will be receiving funding assistance, please be advised that no work can
begin until the State/Local Agreements have been approved and signed by OPRD. Once
agreements have been signed by OPRD, we will send you a copy of the signed agreement and a
"Notice to Proceed." The agreements specify project elements and other details about our
participation in the project. I will be contacting successful applications to discuss the details of
the agreement and the next steps. Work completed or started prior to your agency receiving a
"Notice to Proceed" will not be eligible for reimbursement. This letter only establishes the
priority list for funding projects and does not constitute project approval.
Attached is a suggested press release for your use, should you wish to announce the grant award.
Thank you for your participation and for all your time and effort in this application process. You
may submit your application again during the regular cycle this winter.
