MEDLIN Johnny R
From: Teresa Bishow [teresacarlie.com]
Sent: Tuesday, October 26, 2010 4:18 PM
To: BJORKLUND Neil H
Cc: MEDLIN Johnny R; RICHARDSON Philip S
Subject: Arlie Proposal
Neil,
In the memo dated October 19, 2010, I forgot to mention the donations Arlie & Company made to the City in
granting easements for the park.
During the prior sale of the 200 acre ridgeline trail corridor, Arlie granted the City easements over the existing gravel
roads from LCC across Arlie property to the park property. The easements give the City the right to access the park
property to design, construct and maintain the ridgeline trail and related improvements.
During the prior sale transaction, Arlie also agreed to grant the City a public easement for the trail connection from
LCC to the park at a location acceptable to both parties. Arlie agreed to grant an easement between 50 and 65 feet
wide. After evaluating various trail options, the City staff identified the location of the future easement/trail
connection in the park master plan. Arlie & Company accepts the City's proposed location and remains willing to
donate the easement at the appropriate time. Earlier today, Philip estimated that the public easement for the trail
connection will include about 5 to 6 acres depending on the final alignment.
Again, I want to reiterate that the easements granted by Arlie & Company to the City and the public reflect a
significant donation. If appropriate, please convey this information to the City Council as they discuss the pending
transaction.
Sincerely,
Teresa Bishow, AICP
Planning Director
Arlie & Company
2911 Tennyson Avenue, Suite 400
Eugene, OR 97408
Phone: 541 - 344 -5500
Facsimile: 541-485-2550
teresa @arlie.com
http: / /www.arlie.com
www.crescent- village.com
CONFIDENTIAL COMMUNICATION
This e-mail message and any attachments are intended only for the use of the addressee named above and may contain information that is privileged and
confidential.
