When we met at
your office a couple of weeks ago and discussed McNail Riley we talked about
both the phone and also the long term maintenence.
I thought we agreed that we would put in the phone (pay for installation, but
that you would pick up the monthly bills until the neighborhood found a tenant
to pay it. We would all do our best to encourage the neighborhood to get on
the stick and find a tenant.
We also discussed maintenence. I pointed out that our department has no
capacity for maintenence and this is a function that was agreed to by the
old parks and rec and needs to be now a part of PW. I wanted the contract
be to signed by Public Works and the neighborhood. You reluctantly agreed
and noted that you expected the neighborhood to pay for most maintenence
activities. I agreed. In the end we decided that both PW and Pand D would
sign the contract with the neighbors.
If this isn't right, perhaps we need to meet again (perhaps with others who
may need to be involved) to work it out. I really think this is something
that can be worked out without getting Abe and Chris involved.
I'II be gone on Friday but back on Monday. Look forward to hearing from you.
- Richie
CC: Gloria Roberts
Jan Bohman
Page 2
