COMMUNITY SUPPORT - 10 points total (Limit: 1 page before attachments)
12. How will the community support your project? Describe any NON CASH assistance
this project expects to receive from individuals, businesses or other community groups
in the form of donated labor or materials.
Community organizations such as the Eugene chapter of the American Rhododendron
Society, the Emerald chapter of the North American Rock Garden Society and the Willamette
Valley Hardy Plant Group assist in promotion and distribution of garden brochures and
networking to attract conventions. Nurseries also promote the garden through brochure
distribution and cooperation in providing technical and promotional material about plants,
including professional photographs.. Members of the Eugene chapter of the American
Rhododendron Society also provide historical information and assist as docents on tours.
Since the founding of the Rhododendron Garden in cooperation between the Eugene chapter
of the A.R.S. and the City of Eugene, members of the A.R.S. have provided plants and
funding for special memorials.
13. Attach any letters of support or commitment for this IN KIND assistance (for
example, a letter of commitment from a local business to provide free or reduced cost
printing or from and organization to provide security or first aid services at an event).
14. Attach any additional letters of support for this project from organizations,
businesses or individuals in your community. Letters should specifically address your
proposal and why the writer believes the project will benefit the community.
7
