•
ALFRIEND Ginny D
From: ALFRIEND Ginny D
titio Sent: Tuesday, August 24, 1999 9:52 AM
To: ROBERT Michael J
Subject: IRRIGATION SHELTER
HERE'S THE SHELTER IRRIGATION SCHEDULE:
Peak Irrigation Schedule:
Days on: Wed., Thurs.
Cycle start times: #1 - 3:30 A.M.
#2 - 4:32 A.M.
#3 - 5:34 A.M.
Zone duration: 1 - :15 min.
2- :15min
3- :10min
4- :20 min
Typically, the season starts in April /May, with one day, one cycle as needed (this is weather dependent and may not even
occur every week) and progresses toward peak demand time (usually mid July to mid Aug, 4 - 6 weeks). Then, watering
is phased out in a similar fashion to create a drying out time in late August through September, with a final soaking late
September /October to ensure that the plants can handle freezing stresses.
Last year, the automatic system was drastically reduced in response to a request that no lawn watering be conducted at
all. Hand watering of plants in combination lawn & shrub zones did occur. Several sprinklers were removed entirely.
This year was also a reduced year both in response to sensitivity regarding water issues as well as the abundance of
naturally occurring rainfall. Also, part of the system was out of commission due to tree fall damage.
c
(.0,
1
