As Sheldon neighbors, <br /> we appreciate the thorough manner in which the new fields and artificial turf were <br /> planned and implemented to make them acceptable to both the school and neighborhood. <br /> We would like to express our concern, however, for the following. <br /> During the Sheldon- Churchill Football game played on November 2, 2001, we noticed <br /> several cars parked on the Sheldon High - school track. We walked over there and noticed <br /> also a sign on the fence stating VIP parking. The rolling gate on field side of the vacant <br /> lot that provides access to Jeppesen Acres Road was open and the gate on the Jeppesen <br /> Acres Roadside was unlocked but closed. This access was used to let the people parked <br /> on the track leave after the game. <br /> We have no problem with you providing rewards to Booster Club members and others <br /> but we question the wisdom of parking on the track surface. It seems to us that the track <br /> surface was designed for track running and not for the type of use that vehicles give it. <br /> We are afraid that the heavy vehicles will break the track surface down from weight and <br /> weight plus vehicle turning.
