Memo to Jim Johnson
4J Youth Sports Parks Options
August 16, 2001
Page 4
designation of the Youth Sports Parks as City Parks to allow our Park Regulations to apply." Glenn
Klein advised City staff that it was not necessary to designate the YSPs as city parks in order for the
City's park rules to apply since this could be accomplished by the school district adopting the park rules
and asking EPD to enforce them, which was the path that City staff then pursued. In November, Jim
Croteau responded to Bill Hirsch in a letter dated November 29, 2000 telling him that after consulting
with the City Attorney we proposed that the school district adopt a version of the park rules and send
EPD a letter authorizing enforcement of the rules. Bill did not respond to this letter because, according
to David Brewer's April 4 letter, "The District prefers to resolve the larger issue first."
cc: Tim Rhay
Renee Grube
Cathy Joesph
Attachments: April 4, 2001 letter from David Brewer to Myrnie Daut
IGA amendment 5.25 Operation of Park Components of Youth Sports Parks
Jim Carlson's October 5, 2000 e -mail to Glenn Klein
