• 5. Review of Scheduling Matrix: There was discussion around how late field
lights should be allowed on. John Sappington asked if anyone knew what the
usage hours at Swede Johnson Stadium were during the summer when the Pepsi
Challengers have control. No one knew. Renee Grube said the City allows field
lights to be on until 11:00 p.m. Bill Hirsh suggested and it was agreed to form a
sub - committee to deal with scheduling the synthetic turf fields. Renee agreed to
convene the sub - committee who will bring a proposal to the next meeting
regarding what hours are appropriate to support maximum use and still be
responsive to neighborhood concerns. Sub - committee members are Renee
Grube, Arnold Hultberg, Charlie Warren, and John Crane.
6. Review of responsibilities of the User Committee: The Intergovernmental
Agreement spells out the Committee's responsibilities in 5.4 (5) (6) (7). Time was
running out, so review and discussion of the Agreement will be on the next
meeting's agenda.
7. Other: John Crane asked about usability of soccer fields next spring. Will
there be enough fields to meet the present level of need? Renee Grube said that
while it's true some fields won't be ready to play on, with the new fields in
operation and several upgraded ones coming back on line, there should be more
fields available than there has been in the past.
8. Next Meeting's Agenda: (Send additional agenda items to Bill Hirsh or Pat
Bonney)
A. Field lights (who pays ?)
B. Communication process - how to convey to the community:
1. who decides guidelines for usage
2. who to call to schedule usage
C. Review /discuss Intergovernmental Agreement
D. Review of sub - committee's proposal on scheduling matrix
Meeting adjourned: 4:25 p.m. - Minutes by Pat Bonney
5/15/00
