This day and time may not work for
everyone but we hope most of you can attend. The meetings purposes are to:
a) Explain the goals and expected outcomes of the process to create a sustainable
development plan.
b) Provide information and hold a dialogue to help everyone obtain a basic
understanding of what sustainable development could mean at the
local /community level.
c) Learn what should be included in a sustainability plan for the city and the best
ways to achieving it.
d) Do a little brainstorming on what people think the community would look and
function like in 20 years if at that time it was considered a sustainable community.
A draft agenda can be found at the end of this memo.
Task Force
Following the April 19 meeting, Mayor Kitty intends to appoint a task force that will be
charged with the task of developing a draft sustainability plan for the City. To ensure that
the task force is of manageable size, it will be composed of a subset of those who attend
