JENNINGS Carrie A
From: JENNINGS Carrie A
To: RIKHOFF Greg S
Cc: CHOUINARD Lauren D; BECK Marjorie B
Subject: BH: Scobert Park Advisory Committee
Date: Friday, October 18, 1996 4:16PM
FROM: Bob Hammitt
Greg,
I have been trying to reach you by phone for a couple of days and haven't been able to make contact. I
did touch base with Scott Meisner regarding the selection of Sis Anderson to the committee rather than
Christopher Dykstro. He was concerned about her ability to be a constructive part of the committee. I told
him this was a damage control issue and that it would be better having her group represented at the table
rather than organizing on the outside and doing more damage. He reluctantly conceded, so Sis is our
choice for the fourth houseless position.
I believe we are ready to contact each of the successful applicants and confirm with them the first meeting
date, the commitment involved, and that they are indeed still interested in serving on the committee.
I am willing to call these folks, but I thought it would be more beneficial if you and Marge divided them up
based on which ones you would individually interview. That way when you confirm their interest you can
also schedule a time for the interview sessions. You indicated there were a number of people who weren't
selected that would be beneficial for one of you to talk to also. We probably need to identify who those
people are, and once the committee is confirmed, contact the additional people. Does this strategy make
sense?
Carrie finally got confirmation for a second voter pool person. After she said she was willing to serve on
the committee she made the statement that it was good because she had been wanting to get involved
since she owns a studio in that area. Her home address is 2580 Augusta St. Now that we got hit with
that shocker what do you think about continuing to include her? Will we get beat up too badly because
she is another business representative in the neighborhood. I don't know the address of her business. If
you think it is appropriate we can call her up and say that because of her business in the neighborhood she
does not meet our criteria and begin going through our list again for an additional voter pool member. Give
me your opinion.
Thanks, Bob
Page 1
