Please consider the following:
THE PROBLEM(S)
- - Illegal activity in the park.
-- Though important, the issue of vegetation damage through
trampling, and contamination by human waste, is secondary_
- -The feeling, on the part of some of our community, that the
police have no legitimate authority.
coRoLLAR'Y POINT
- -The committee visited at length its composition. The vote
was to continue as constituted_ I strongly object to re-
visiting this issues.
THE VISION THING
-- Scobert Park is: Eugene's most beautiful. A gem in a
splendid park system. A bit of natural space and beauty in an
urban setting. It should be cafe. Clean. Moms should feel safe in
bringing their bids to play in it. The elderly should feel free
to relax upon its benches and feel the warmth of the sun.
-- Scobert should not be An open air drug market, bar or toilet.
I am opposed to its use as a setting for social service delivery.
(lar
11/11/96 11:19 TX/RX NO.0919 P_001 11
