The ad was designed to reach a broad audience, including potential <br /> representatives from the West Blair neighborhood, local businesses, social service providers, and <br /> people with a horticultural background. <br /> • Fliers (sample attached) were posted September 27 in a number of locations in the Whiteaker <br /> neighborhood. The fliers, in English and Spanish, were designed to reach local residents, immediate <br /> park neighbors, and members of the houseless constituency. <br /> • A letter and committee application form (samples attached) were mailed September 27 to <br /> approximately 2,200 residents and property owners in the West Blair area. The application form <br /> also has been translated into Spanish. The mailing was designed to reach West Blair residents, <br /> immediate park neighbors, and local businesses. <br /> • Staff is in the process of telephoning members of the voters' pool to solicit applications from that <br /> group. <br /> Outreach Strategies to Support the Committee <br />
