Ms. Beck determined there was consensus that the final version of the recommendations of the
committee and its cover memorandum to department directors would be provided to members of the
committee; that members would review for accuracy and report corrections to Ms. Granatstein within
one week; and that Ms. Granatstein would collate responses and present them to staff for submitting to
department directors.
V. GROUP'S FUTURE
Ms. Beck reminded members that it had been determined that Ballot Measure 47 impacts restricted staff
support for department advisory committees. She suggested that members of the committee could
continue involvement in issues related to Scobert Park by expressing concerns at meetings of the
Whiteaker Community Council and Neighborhood Advisory Board, or by establishing an informal
group of interested persons to support improvements at the park.
Ms. Jennings reported that an immediate response to recommendations made to department directors
should not be anticipated, but that periodic updates for members and other interested parties were
planned.
Mr. Guzowski expressed appreciation to members for their sensitivity to historic preservation issues
during their deliberations.
Mr. Brett expressed appreciation to members for their cooperative spirit in dealing with contentious
issues.
Mr. Morgan expressed appreciation for the recommendations of the committee. •
Mr. Bremer expressed appreciation to members for their thoughtful discussions. He stated that the
Whiteaker Public Safety Station was available as a meeting location for any future gatherings of
members to consider issues regarding Scobert Park.
Ms. Davenport determined that a majority of members present were interested in continuing in a
"watch dog" capacity over Scobert Park.
Members expressed appreciation to Ms. Jennings for her administrative support of the work of the
committee.
Ms. Beck expressed her and Mr. Choiunard's appreciation for the work of the committee.
Mr. Berry moved, seconded by Mr. Ebbitt, that the meeting be adjourned. The
motion was adopted unanimously, 9 :0.
The meeting adjourned at 8:35 p.m.
(Recorded by Dan Lindstrom)
r :197p w l scodac04.037
(kW
MINUTES — Scobert Park Advisory Committee March 4, 1997 Page 5
