Go for it!
- -John
From: GUZOWSKI Ken J
To: ETTER John F
Subject: RE: SCOBERT GARDENS
Date: Thursday, May 01, 1997 1 1:34AM
If you like, I could take care of this item, as I am working
with Meisner on some other things. Your call, however.
Thanks John.
From: ETTER John F
To: GUZOWSKI Ken J
Subject: RE: SCOBERT GARDENS
Date: Thursday, May 01, 1997 10:33AM
Sorry to have not responded to your phone message on this earlier.
The Council has been involved in name changes before which are
more significant. I would rate this as rather insignificant
and non - controversial, and therefore suggest writing a memo to
the Council that gives the rationale for the change - -that the
recommendation came out of the Scobert Park Advisory
Committee's work, that "Garden" reflects intended use and
ambience of the park as determined by public input, and that
"Scobert" is important to retain for historic reasons. The
Council would have 10 days to respond. Lacking any request by
the Council to collectively consider this, we would be free to
change the name. Since this is Scott Meisner's ward, I would
first run this implementation scenario by him to get his
support. You might want to run this scenario by Jan Childs
to also get her support. - -John
From: GUZOWSKI Ken J
To: ETTER John F
Subject: SCOBERT GARDENS
Date: Thursday, May 01, 1997 10:17AM
Hello John, hope your holding up over there.
Carrie Jennings is inquiring about the name change process for
Scobert Park. My memory tells me that you said it will have
to go to council for final approval. Is this so? I can take
care of the historic end of it, of course.
Thanks.
