INTRODUCTION <br /> The City of Eugene Public Works Department manages the Amazon Creek Flood <br /> Control Works project under the authority of local sponsor agreements with the U.S. <br /> Army Corps of Engineers. As the responsible agency for this project, the City has been <br /> eligible to participate, and has maintained an active status in the Corps Rehabilitation <br /> and Inspection Program (RIP) since the program began in the late 1950's. To help <br /> guide operations and maintenance policies and practices for this project the City has <br /> historically relied on RIP annual project inspection reports, Corps manuals and <br /> publications, and internal Public Works Department management and emergency <br /> response plans. These documents are listed below. <br /> Whereas the general protocols, practices, and procedures for flooding emergency <br /> response operations are covered in the Public Works Department section of the City's <br /> Emergency Plan, they are not specific to the unique conditions for this flood control <br /> project. This is especially true for the levee sections of the project.
