<br /> At the suggestion of Dan Gleason and other Lane County Audubon Board
<br /> members with whom I am working on this project, I am forwarding to you a
<br /> copy of a proposal submitted by John Etter on behalf of Cascades Raptor
<br /> Care Center to the Parks & Recreation Commission at their 10/21 meeting.
<br /> It was considered by the Commission to be of merit and approval was
<br /> given to investigate the idea more fully. (This property is apparently
<br /> earmarked in the City Parks Master Plan as a site to be developed as a
<br /> nature /interpretive center and the Commission felt that the attached
<br /> proposed use would, therefore, be in keeping with the Master Plane) The
<br /> Public Works Department, however, is rejecting the Commission's recom-
<br /> mendation and is in the process of recommending to the City Council that •
<br /> the property be sold.
<br /> Donna Neal plans to readdress the issue at the Wednesday, 11/18, Parks &
<br /> Recreation Commission meeting and will, I assume, be forwarding a
<br /> Commission recommendation to the City Council. I will also be trying to
<br /> contact you by phone, as I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss
<br /> this with you, but thought I would take advantage of this chance to get
<br /> the whole proposal to you for your review.
