Although no fund - raising can be initiated until the site is contracted, current plans <br /> include the following: <br /> direct mail solicitations for funds, materials, services to be included in mailings of <br /> local conservation groups (Izaak Walton League, Sierra Club, Audubon) and other <br /> organizations with membership bases likely to be interested (Natural History Museum, <br /> WISTEC), as well as mailings to the hundreds of people whose lives have been <br /> touched by CRCC over recent years <br /> development of a 'charter member' program among the thousands of people visiting <br /> educational displays at summer events such as Art and the Vineyard, the Lane County <br /> Fair, and Eugene Celebration <br /> a media campaign utilizing radio and television personalities <br /> service club and business presentations (e.g., Rotary, Kiwanis) designed around <br /> building individual display cages: a "Corporate Cage Campaign" <br /> a combination art auction, benefit concert, wine - tasting event <br /> - extensive grant - writing through both foundations and government sources <br /> - personal solicitation of major individual donors <br /> - Adopt -a -Bird program to support individuals among the education birds <br /> Seed money is available for these campaigns. To build the Interpretive Center, develop the <br /> paths, educational programs, and all the proposed display cages to the standards planned will <br /> take an estimated five years. Our goal is to raise $500,000; where cash needs are met <br /> through donated materials and services, the funds will be converted to an endowment account <br /> for on -going operations of the facility. <br /> III. TERMS OF PROPOSAL <br /> The site, as is, is a workable rehabilitation facility and caretaker's residence.
