690 West 31st Avenue
Eugene, Oregon 97405
July 2, 1992
John Etter
City of Eugene Maintenance
1820 Roosevelt
Eugene, Oregon 97402
Deer Mr. Etter
We regret the decision to hold the first meeting to discuss the
proposed Morse Ranch master plan at a time when we have an out of
doors pot luck scheduled. We were disappointed to learn about the first
proposed meeting date from a third party flue days before it was to
take place. We are also disappointed to find that a meeting date had
been set with out any prior consultation with the main user group. We
appreciate the fact that you plan to uisit with us before the scheduled
hearing but it is not the same as having the opportunity to hear the
comments of others. We hope there will be a record of those comments
and that we will haue access to them.
We hope that there will be more opportunities for public review be-
fore any master plan becomes operational. Moreover we hope the
interested parties will be consulted well before any hearing dates are
set and that the schedule of hearings is announced sufficiently in ad-
uance of the hearing dates that interested parties can plan to attend.
The copy of the plan we have seen sags that the plan is sponsored by
the Wayne Morse Historical Park Corporation. This is not accurate as
the membership of the corporation were not consulted about the plan in
any way. They had no input and no prior access to the plan. The word
"corporation" should be deleted and the word "board" should appear
instead.
Robert Freeman
for Eugene Off Leash Association
c.c. Randy MacDonald
