Biographical Information
I am currently employed by the Department of Biology at the University of Oregon where I have assisted,
and later taught Bi. 459 - Field Ornithology each summer since 1973. I have also taught a course in
Oregon Natural History. I have spent my entire life in Oregon and have become aquatinted with much of
its natural history, with birds as my particular specialty. I serve on the Board of Directors of the Lane
County Audubon Society where I am currently Vice- President, Membership Chair, and Education Chair.
In the past, I have also served that organization as President and Editor.
As interest to local birders and for use by my Ornithology class, I have created several lists of bird species
that may be found in several locations in or around Eugene. Many of these locations include some
Eugene parks (Skinner's Butte, Spencer Butte, Hendrick's Park). I would be happy to provide you with
copies of these if you wish.
Dan Gleason
1282 E. 39th Pl.
Eugene, OR 97405
345 -0450 (home)
346 -4535 (UO)
