I cannot
express enough how wonderful it is to have such a facility for our
dogs to run and play in an unleashed area such as this.
Z
It has not only become a place to take our dog, but a wonderful
- gathering each night of many new friends and their dogs.- I cannot wait
. each day to make the trip to Wayne Morse Ranch, and Kyah is sometimes
hard to contain in the car as we near the area each night. Our dog
Has met many wonderful friends through the use of this facility, and
overall seems much happier and healthier.
I know there has been much controversy over the existance of these
areas, and I can only tell you what I observe. The dog owners that I
have met there are careful and considerate. Each takes care of their
dog's "messes" immediately with no complaints. They are kind and
considerate of everyone in the area and overall we have "alot" of fun
each evening. My younger boys look forward to our nightly visits more
than any other park I have taken them to...they get to freely play with
their best friend "Kyah ".
I now understand that they are going to take away the one feature
that makes Wayne Morse Ranch unique...the stream. This to me is sad and
very unnecessary! It is so nice to have access to the water for our
dogs to take a drink, as they play so hard. They do not do any damage
to the stream, and we that go there love it. Please reconsider your
decision to fence off the stream. Instead of spending the money to
fence it off, perhaps you could plant blackberry bushes and other hardy
plants to preserve what few people say the dogs destroy. They are no
more damaging than having horses graze on this land.
My family appreciates what you have given to the community, and
hope that you reconsider your plan to fence off our stream. Thank you
for your consideration.
Sincerely,
O &
The Stitz F" - amily
1025 Brookside Drive
Eugene, Oregon 97405
Please COPY and distribute this letter to Johnny Medlin, Dept. of Public
