EUGENE Public Works
Maintenance
City of Eugene
1820 Roosevelt Boulevard
Eugene, Oregon 97402
(541) 682-4800
June 20, 1997
Mr. Dave Obem
Oregon State Marine Board
435 Commercial St. NE
Salem, OR 97301 -0650
Dear Mr. Obem:
This letter is to officially notify the State Marine Board that the City of Eugene will not be participating
in your Maintenance Assistance Program (MAP) during the FY97 -98 period. This decision will affect
the operation of both Hileman and Whitley Boat Landings on the Willamette River.
This decision is a result of the passage of Ballot Measures 47/50. Reductions to the Park Maintenance
Section's operational budget will result in a lower level of service to . the general public. One of these
service reductions in Eugene is to prohibit vehicle access to Hileman and Whitely Boat Landings.
Thank you for your past support to both boat landings. If you need further information concerning this
matter you may contact me at 541- 682 -4809.
Respectfully,
Richard A. Morgan
Park Operations Manager
