Scenario 2
Dex is 12 years old and is working on a school project for computer class. Just
as he was wrapping up his project, his computer shut down unexpectedly. He
lost his whole presentation and was unable to turn his computer back on. Dex's
mother, Joy, works for the City and had access to her office after hours. She
took Dex to her office so he could recreate his project, due the next day. She
didn't feel it was necessary to tell her supervisor as no one was affected by her
son using her city computer. Besides, it was after hours and no one else needed
the computer for City business.
Discussion Questions: What are the questions or issues that arise in this
scenario? What other options did Joy have which would have complied more
closely with City policy?
