•
Attachment A
MINUTES
Wetland Executive Team
Bureau of Land Management -2890 Chad Drive -- Suislaw Meeting Room
June 19, 1998
1:30 p.m.
PRESENT: Becky Eklund, Convenor; Dennis Williamson, Louis Kroeck, Wade Stampe, members;
Steve Gordon, Megan Banks, Lane Council of Governments; Diane Chang, Jock Beall,
Bureau of Land Management; Cheryl Zwillinger, Looking Glass.
I. REVIEW AGENDA AND INTRODUCTIONS
The members of the Wetland Executive Team (WET) and staff present introduced themselves. Mr.
Kroeck indicated that Christine Andersen of the City of Eugene would be unable to attend the meeting.
Mr. Gordon noted that The Nature Conservancy's representatives would also not be present.
II. APPROVAL OF DECEMBER 1, 1998, MINUTES
Ms. Eklund noted that the minutes erroneously referred to Mr. Karen Tarnow, rather than Ms. Tarnow.
The minutes were approved as amended.
III. EVALUATION OF THE 1997 YOUTH PROGRAM
Mr. Gordon provided the evaluation. He said that the program was financed with a grant from Lane
County, contributions from the youth providers, and contributions from the partnership. Mr. Gordon
reviewed the number of youth participants and hours worked. He said that the program had operated
more smoothly than the previous year. He said that the partnership continued to learn from the
experience.
Mr. Gordon reported that Ms. Tarnow had left LCOG and her coordination and evaluation role would
be assumed by Kim Musser of LCOG.
Ms. Zwillinger said that the previous year went well and youth attendance was good. She said that this
year's crews have been hired and would start work next week. Mr. Beall concurred, saying that
representatives of the partnership had met with the crew leaders that morning to discuss the upcoming
season.
MINUTES — Wetland Executive Team June 19, 1998 Page 1
