Wetland F..xecutive Team (WE) <br /> Statement of Tartness liip <br /> .4 <br /> March 11, 1994 <br /> The 'Wetland jc tive pram (WE?) is established 6y this Statement of Partnership. WET is a partnership of federal <br /> and kcal* governments and non-profit organizations who 6etieve that coordinated, shared management of the west <br /> Eugene wetlands eita6les us to 6e more effective and to use limited resources more efficiently. WE7is the major <br /> coordinating body for intergovernmentaland interagency management actions affecting the wetland project area. <br /> WET coordinates management activities; it is not an advisory committee which maps policy or legal <br /> recommendations to any local state or federal decision makers. At this time, WET partners include City of Eugene <br /> (pu6Cw Works Director), Bureau of Land 1anagement (Eugene District Manager), and?&e Nature Conservancy <br /> (Oregon Director). <br /> Mission Statement <br /> 7o enable partner agencies and organizations to e ffidiuefy share in the effcient and coonfinated operation and <br /> management of the west Eugene uwtlandsystem. <br /> Coals and 06j ectives <br /> 1. Provide guidance andfscaloversight to the management of the west Eugene wetlands system within the existing <br /> policy and TgalframeworkoutCmed in the West Eugene 'Wetlands Plan and other pu6Cw policy documents <br /> related to the project area. <br /> 2. Provide the network for communication and coordinated decision - making regarding capital improvements and <br /> management of the west Eugene wetlands system. <br /> 3. Provide efficiencies 6y cooperating in the management of the wetland system in ways that take advantage of the <br /> strengths of the partners in a shared arrangement for the mutual6enefit of the environment and the pu6Cw. <br /> 4. Provide a forum for resolving conflicts in the spirit of using open communications as an opportunity to find <br /> positive solutions to problems. <br /> S. Vse long range planning as the 6asis for sound management decision making and bring vision and creativity to <br /> the achievement of the multiple objectives outlined in the apptwa6le long range plans. <br /> 6. &view and evaluate wetland management efforts for effectiveness and conformance with the 'WE?'s Mission, <br /> goals and o6jectives and the goats, o6jectives, policies and recommended actions of apptwa6le long -range plans. <br /> 7. Esta6Cuh priorities for research related to the wetlands system. <br /> 8. Strive to provide ftnancialsta6ifity and excellence to the wetland management system. <br /> 9. Worktogetherfor success andcele6rate and communicate achievements to the partners, the pu6Cw, and our <br /> respective officials and leaders. <br /> 10. Keep ekcted officials infonned about the West Eugene 'Wetlands Program. <br /> 11. Cary out other necessary tasks and programs, in consultation with each other and our respective officials, that <br /> further the advancement of the west Eugene wetland area as a local state, and national resource. <br /> 12.
