DEC1696M Page 1
WETHEADS SPECIAL MEETING
Evaluation & Action Item Summary
December 16, 1996
Lamb Cottage
SPECIAL MEETING Evaluation
(The following is a summary of comments from five of the special meeting participants).
Overall, the retreat was beneficial and would be good to do again, annually or semi - annually.
Could do as a field trip with discussion items tied to individual sites. Maybe all wetheads should
attend.
Responses about structure for the day varied between satisfactory and wanted more structure.
Concern about combining a celebration with an assessment. Maybe should have provided a
clearer purpose of the meeting beforehand.
Agenda comments ranged from morning agenda too crowded, should have spent more on the
partnership role and relationship, and should have spent more time on work planning and
prioritizing. Some agenda items redundant or misplaced.
Action Items
1. Internal Wethead Communication:
Structure a time to talk outside of monthly meeting.
Look for ways to meet on -site (including MIPs meetings).
Improve sharing information and breaking down responsibilities for sharing information (error
on the side of sending out information).
Maintain coordination of e-mail communications, including LCOG /City e-mail distribution lists.
List rules of communication. Clarify communication responsibilities and improve
understanding of authority in each group.
Take photos, etc. of sites in dry, wet seasons and during flooding.
Prioritize what funds are for, what are essential projects, then develop longer wish list.
Improve dedicated field resources as a part of a shift from planning to implementation.
