An inspection was conducted, and the tree was <br /> determined to be a hazard tree in danger of uprooting, due to the cutting of anchoring and <br /> buttressing roots within 32 inches of the trunk. The City Inspector ordered work stopped <br /> A DIVISION OF PUBLIC WORKS within the right -of -way area of the tree's Critical Root Zone. <br /> 1820 ROOSEVELT BLVD <br /> EUGENE, OREGON 97402 The excavation that occurred and the cutting of roots have been determined to be in <br /> (541) 682 -4800 violation of the City's Standard Tree Protection Detail, LS 120 (previously E -97), section <br /> FAX (541) 682 -4882 3.A, Standard Specifications, and section 3 -H, Protection of Trees, referenced in the Utility <br /> WWW.EUGENE -0R.GOV /PARKS and Right -of -Way Permits, Construction Within and Use of the Public Way, Policies and <br /> Procedures manual. This manual was adopted January 14 2004, in Administrative Rule <br /> R -7.302 (through Administrative Order No. 58- 03- 19 -F). <br /> Pursuant to R- 7.302, and specifically to section 3.J.1, Damage to Public Trees (manual), and <br /> PARKS AND OPEN SPACE PLANNING to protect the health, safety and welfare of the public, you are ordered to correct the damage <br /> to the tree by safely removing it and its stump as soon as possible. This letter is the City' <br /> PARK OPERATIONS authorization for you to remove this tree. Please have it on site while the work is being <br /> done. <br /> URBAN FORESTRY You have agreed to pay the City damages in the amount of $6.000.00.
