ORDINANCE NO. 07.0 <br /> AN ORDINANCE ADDING A NEW CHAPTER 2.25 TO <br /> THE ASHLAND MUNICIPAL CODE ESTABLISHING A <br /> STREET TREE COMMISSION. <br /> THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF ASHLAND DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> SECTION 1. A new Chapter 2.25 is hereby added to the Ashland <br /> Municipal Code, and shall read as follows: <br /> "Chapter 2.25 <br /> STREET TREE COMMISSION <br /> Sections: <br /> • <br /> 2.25.010 Established -- Membership <br /> 2.25.020 Term -- Vacancies <br /> 2.25.030 Quorum -- Rules and Meetings <br /> 2.25.040 Powers and Duties -- Generally <br /> 2.25.050 Reports <br /> 2.25.060 Compensation <br /> 2.25.010 Established -- Membership. There is hereby established <br /> a Street Tree Commission which shall consist of seven (7) voting <br /> members, and certain non - voting ex- officio members including a rep- <br /> resentative of the Planning Commission, a member of the City Council, <br /> and the Director of Community Development. The voting members shall <br /> be appointed by the Mayor with confirmation by the City Council. <br /> 2.25.020 Term -- Vacancies. The term of voting members shall be <br /> for three (3) years, expiring on December 31 of each year. Any <br /> vacancy shall be filled by appointment by the Mayor with confirma- <br /> tion by the City Council for the unexpired portion of the term. The <br /> terms of the initial members shall be two for one (1) year, two for <br /> two (2) years, and three for three (3) years, which shall be drawn <br /> by lot at the first meeting of the Commission. Their successors <br /> shall be appointed for three (3) year terms. <br /> 2.25.030 Quorum -- Rules and Meetings. Four (4) voting members <br /> of the Commission shall constitute a quorum. The Commission may make <br /> rules and regulations for its meetings and procedure consistent with <br /> Roberts Rules of Order and City Ordinances, and shall meet at least <br /> once every month. At its first meeting, the Commission shall elect <br /> a Chairperson and Vice''Chairperson.
