Urban Forest Management Plan (UFMP) adopted by Council in
1991. You may not readily find these in your copy of the code
due to their being new additions (went into effect September
5, 1996) to the code which were made in the Local Street Plan
(LSP) package passed by Council in August.
There were a number of changes regarding street trees which
were passed as a part of the LSP process in August. These
changes were primarily driven to implement policy statements
adopted in the UFMP. Heritage trees, clarifying the
requirement to obtain a permits for removing street trees,
adopting pruning standards, street tree valuations, and the
requirement to plant street trees when new developments create
streets were the major focus areas.
Prior to this the major change to the ordinance was 2 -3 years
ago when we first had the problem on Hunter's Glen PUD and
Barbara Keller pushed some major revisions through. You might
remember these were the changes which the Mayor vetoed and the
council overrode the veto.
Hope this was helpful, please let me know if you need additional.
thanks
Johnny
From: BRINER Cathy A
To: MEDLIN Johnny R
Subject: phone call
Date: Wednesday, October 09, 1996 3:38PM
Reason I was calling was to find the answers to 2 questions I've been asked:
-where in Code is language about heritage trees?
-when was last time tree section in Code (sections 6.300 -6.330 )was updated /changed?
Thanks a bunch.
