HAMMITT Bob
From: MEDLIN Johnny R
To: LYLE Les A
Cc: HAMMITT Bob; MILLER Marsha A
Subject: RE: Trees in PUD's and Service Improvement Team
Date: Wednesday, August 07, 1996 2:36PM
Hi Les,
Thanks for the info. I'm out of the office on Monday as is Scott, but Bob Hammitt is here that day if Chris
wants some additional staff to attend.
Thanks
Johnny
From: LYLE Les A
To: MEDLIN Johnny R
Cc: MILLER Marsha A
Subject: RE: Trees in PUD's and Service Improvement Team
Date: Wednesday, August 07, 1996 2:25PM
The thoughts at this point is to bring Abe and Chris together
on the 12th at 4 pm to discuss options for how we process this
issue. I think there is some conceptual agreement, that a
process review would be desirable to sort out roles,
responsibility, process issues, resources, etc. This is not
the only approach and is not an absolute. My role is simply
to try and be a facilitator to bring the parties together to
reach a resolution to this apparent process /resource issue.
As you know, it just gets too political each time something
happens and maybe we can find a way to minimize that
occurrence. I know Barbara is certainly expecting we will be
doing something. I'm not sure if Abe and Chris will be
inviting others to the discussion or just meet themselves.
You will have to ask them. I have been doing some initial
investigation as to the availability of the systems team and
trying to get a sense of how quickly a process review could be
completed. From initial indications, there is some resource
availability that can be brought to bear now. One of the key
issues will be the willingness of effected staff to put the
time (limited) into a review. So, hopefully, next Monday
direction will be established. I there is concern or
questions, please let me know an I will attempt to fill in
what gaps I can. Thanks Les L
From: MEDLIN Johnny R
To: LYLE Les A
Cc: MILLER Marsha A
Subject: Trees in PUD's and Service Improvement Team
Date: Wednesday, August 07, 1996 11:01 AM
Hi Les,
I just got off the phone with Marsha. I shared with her what
you had told me regarding the possible wish (I think you said
it was Chris and Abe's) to involve the Service Improvement
Team in doing an evaluation. While this wasn't the direction
we has took in earlier meetings, Marsha and I agreed to
suspend our discussions until we knew if the Service
Improvement Team process was going to move forward.
I think both Marsha and I think using the Service Improvement
Page 1
