DOC2.WPD Page 2
replacement planting will occur immediately following the removal of each tree. The remaining trees
identified in the reports will be placed on the Urban Forestry Tree Monitoring list. These trees will
receive quarterly health and safety inspections and would be subject to removal only if their condition
further deteriorates.
To insure we have provided notice and involved people who would be interested in these removals we
have performed a series of actions. We conducted a meeting with the tenants of the market on January
9, 1997, at 8:30 am to share the information we have gathered and address their concerns regarding this
project. We have also provided a written public notice that included all abutting property owners and
tenants within 200 ft. of the proposed removals. We are now preparing a posting that will be attached to
each tree to be removed that will provide additional notice concerning the removal and replanting of
these trees. Attached is a copy of these notices. If you would like additional information, please feel
free to contact me at 682 -4819.
