Only willows grow frequently in this section. <br /> b) Guidelines for Tree and Shrub Plantings <br /> This reach from Railroad Bridge to Royal Avenue does not include Guidelines for Tree and <br /> Shrub Plantings. It may revegetate passively. As resources allow, and as priorities dictate, a <br /> more active planting approach should be considered in the context of invasive species passively <br /> establishing themselves. <br /> 3. Royal Avenue to Fern Ridge Reservoir <br /> a) Existing Conditions <br /> A very significant characteristic of this reach is that, at times, the water level is actually higher <br /> than the ground level in some areas. The banks on both sides are steep and high for flood <br /> protection. There are more and different species than on the section before, but it is still an open <br /> landscape.
