• <br /> NOTICE OF INTENDED AMENDMENT OF TREE REMOVAL AND <br /> STREET TREE PLANTING PROGRAM FEE SCHEDULE; RATIFICATION <br /> OF UNAMENDED FEES; AND REPEAL OF ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER <br /> NO. 58-00-02-F. <br /> To: The Mayor and City Councilors of the City of Eugene, and other interested persons. <br /> NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to the provisions of Sections 2.020, 6.330, and <br /> 7.280 of the Eugene Code, 1971, the City Manager of the City of Eugene intends to amend the Tree <br /> Removal and Street Tree Planting Program Fee Schedule to: (a) amend the "Replacement fee" <br /> paragraph of the Tree Removal Fees Section and add a new provision to that section after "Appeal <br /> Fee" for a City - identified tree removal permit; (b) amend the Developer and City Planting Options <br /> to replace the existing method of determining fees with a method of determining fees that is based <br /> on linear footage of the development site abutting street right of way as follows: <br /> TREE REMOVAL AND STREET TREE <br /> PLANTING PROGRAM FEE SCHEDULE <br /> (Effective , 2004) <br /> [NOTE: New language is shown in bold italics, ] <br /> TREE REMOVAL FEES: <br /> Current Fee Proposed Fee <br /> Replacement fee: <br /> The fee for replacement of a street tree or <br /> other public tree shall be calculated using the <br /> plant appraisal method established by the <br /> Council of Tree & Landscape Appraisers (if <br /> the tree is illegally felled, this fee is in addition <br /> to any other fees or fines that may be imposed). <br /> Minimum replacement fee shall be the current <br /> cost to plant and establish a 2 -inch caliper tree <br /> for three years with initial structural pruning at <br /> the end of the establishment period. <br /> City - identified tree removal permit fee: <br /> No permit fee is required for a private party's <br /> removal of a street tree that, because it is in <br /> poor health or presents a potential hazard, <br /> has been identified by the City as a tree that <br /> needs to be removed.
