6.990 Penalties - Specific. <br /> (3) Violation of section 6.300 to and including section 6.335 is punishable by: <br /> (a) A fine of a minimum of $500.00 to a maximum of $5,000.00 for each <br /> tree other than a street tree removed, or confinement in jail not to exceed 100 days, <br /> or both fine and imprisonment. <br /> (b) A fine in the amount of the value of each street tree illegally removed, <br /> calculated by using the methods set forth in the Guide for Plant Appraisal prepared <br /> by the Council of Tree and Landscape Appraisers, or confinement in jail not to <br /> exceed 100 days, or both fine and imprisonment. <br /> In addition, the city attomey, upon request of the city manager, shall institute any necessary legal <br /> proceedings to enforce the provisions of sections 6.300 to 6.335 of this code. <br /> Section 3. The City Recorder, at the request of, or with the concurrence of the City Attorney, <br /> is authorized to administratively correct any reference errors contained herein or in other provisions <br /> of the Eugene Code, 1971, to the provisions added, amended or repealed herein. <br /> Section 4. Notwithstanding the effective date of ordinances as provided in the Eugene <br /> Charter of 1976, it is necessary to further the orderly implementation of the new provisions and <br /> procedures adopted herein that this Ordinance become effective on the effective date of a final court <br /> decision voiding Measure 7.
