From: Norris, Linda
To: Medlin, Johnny
Cc: Schmidt, Jens (RIS1)
Subject: Benchmark Northwest
Date: Wednesday, March 30, 1994 11:45AM
Johnny, there seems to be some dispute about how much money we
could have charged Benchmark for the trees they cut. (This is
a result of ther $38,000 figure in Jeff's RG article.)
When I talked to you the other day, you said we could have
received $4,000 under the admin. civil penalty route.
The ordinance allows us to charge between $100 and $4000 per
tree. I think you told me you thought we could have charged
about $7000 using this process. Would you let me know whether
this figure is correct, and how it would have been calculated?
I just want this information in case we get calls from Council
members who thought we should have asked for more than
$10,000.
Thanks for your help.
