Canvass the project area, and survey potential plantings sites and <br /> site constraints <br /> 4. Complete list of property owners /occupants and proposed tree <br /> number and size, then submit list to NeighborWoods Coordinator <br /> 5. Begin to develop the Maintenance Plan <br /> Three to Five Months Before Planting Dav (July to September) <br /> 1. Establish planting date <br /> 2. Prepare final mailing and phone list of property occupants and <br /> volunteer planters <br /> 3. NeighborWoods Coordinator finalizes tree number and species for <br /> the project, and orders trees from the nursery <br /> Two Months Before Planting Dav (October) <br /> 1. Recruit Planting Team Leaders and volunteers <br /> 2. Recruit pick -up trucks and drivers for Planting Day (one truck per <br /> ten trees) <br /> 3. Confirm tree order and final species selection with NeighborWoods <br /> Coordinator <br /> Two Weeks Before Planting Dav <br /> 1. Mark tree locations on curb, and phone in utility checks <br /> 2. Take "before" photos <br /> 3. Mail notice of Planting Day to volunteers, and follow up seven <br /> days before Planting Day with a phone call <br /> 4. Ensure that all trees required are in the City's holding bed <br /> One Week Before Planting Dav <br /> 1. Remove sod and dig hole <br /> 2. Arrange for mulch delivery <br /> 3. Ensure that vehicles will be moved away from planting site on <br /> Planting Day <br /> 4. Verify spigot /hose locations at each house <br /> 5. Complete details for headquarters (keys, table, name tags, <br /> refreshments, headquarters host, lunch, etc.) <br /> 6.
