TOOLS AND SUPPLIES REQUIRED ON PLANTING DAY <br /> Planting Tools and Supplies Provided by City (per Planting Team): <br /> 1 stake pounder <br /> 1 -2 stakes per tree to be planted <br /> 5 round -tip shovels (for volunteers who cannot provide their own) <br /> 1 alley broom (for sweeping sidewalk, gutter, and pick -up bed) <br /> 2 pitchforks (for moving and applying chip mulch) <br /> 1 scoop shovel (for moving chip mulch off paved surfaces) <br /> 1 pulaski (for sod removal, if required) <br /> 1 flat -tip shovel (for removing soil /mud from sidewalks etc.) <br /> 1 steel lawn rake (for cleaning up treelawn outside of planting area) <br /> 2 safety cones (one in front, and one in back of truck when stopped) <br /> 1 tie -down rope (to secure trees when moving from site to site) <br /> 1 staple -gun with extra staples <br /> 1 roll of tree -tie <br /> 1 wheelbarrow (for hauling mulch; only if neighbors are unable to <br /> supply) <br /> What Volunteers Need to Bring: <br /> work gloves <br /> round -tip shovel or spade -fork (labeled with name) <br /> rubber boots or work boots <br /> raingear <br /> Supplies Needed at Headquarters (provided by neighbors): <br /> registration table <br /> name -tags and wax marking pencils <br /> coffee /tea maker (extension cords, etc.) <br /> refreshments <br /> tools.etc <br /> Updated August 1992 <br />
