MEMORANDUM <br /> April 4, 1994 <br /> TO: Nancy Nathanson <br /> Ward 8 <br /> FROM: Jan Staszewski <br /> Urban Forester <br /> SUBJECT: NeighborWoods Award Ceremony <br /> During the April 11 Council meeting, councilors from each of the wards will present awards <br /> to the volunteer leaders who supervised tree planting projects in their neighborhoods in the <br /> past year. A list of volunteer leaders from your ward is included in your information packet. <br /> The City has not actively advertised the program or recruited for volunteers. Many of the <br /> people who participated in this year's program have helped out in previous years. Others <br /> learned about the program through media coverage or neighborhood newsletter articles. The <br /> volunteers contacted us about becoming involved, and we worked with them to coordinate <br /> specific plantings. <br /> We will continue to encourage volunteers in all eight wards to participate in the <br /> NeighborWoods program.
