Where the on -going maintenance activities of EWEB in providing the mandated <br /> clearances to electrical lines impact trees under the jurisdiction of CITY, <br /> the parties hereby agree as follows: <br /> 1. Prior to performing major (what's major ?) line clearance activities on <br /> trees within the street right -of -way EWEB shall notify CITY of its <br /> intent to perform this work. <br /> 2. EWEB and CITY staff shall meet to evaluate the impact this work will <br /> have on the specific trees and reach a consensus of the extent of work <br /> to be performed. <br /> 3. A public notification plan will be agreed on depending on the magnitude <br /> of the work being performed way include but is not limited to: <br /> a. notice to abutting property owners. <br /> b. notice to interested Board /Council members <br /> c. notice to Neighborhood Organization <br /> (9\7 d. news release <br /> More?????? <br /> TREE REMOVAL <br /> On the joint determination of EWEB and CITY staff that a tree in conflict with <br /> utility lines needs to be removed the following process will be used. <br /> 1. Photographs and a written description of the reasons for removal will be <br /> collected by EWEB and submitted to CITY. <br /> 2. If the tree poses an immediate and severe hazard to life or property the <br /> tree may be removed without further notice. <br /> 3. In non - emergency situations the standard CITY process of posting a tree <br /> for removal shall be followed. A "Notice of Tree Removal" posting shall <br /> /v be placed on the tree. This notice shall state the reasons for the <br /> trees removal, approximate date the tree is to be removed, if a <br /> replacement tree is planned, state the location in which the photographs <br /> and documentation supporting this decision may be viewed, and include a <br /> CITY telephone number for questions. <br /> 4. CITY staff will evaluate all comments received regarding the proposed <br /> tree removal and if appropriate authorize its removal.. <br /> 5. On receiving authorization from CITY staff EWEB will remove .the tree. <br /> 6. The tree stump will be removed (by grinding) by the CITY with costs <br /> reimbursed by EWEB. <br /> 7.
