a) Photographs and a written description of the reasons for removal <br /> will be collected by CITY. In the event of an emergency removal, <br /> _ this documentation will be collected by EWEB and presented to <br /> CITY. <br /> b) If the tree poses an immediate and severe hazard to life or <br /> property the tree may be removed without further notice. <br /> c) A "Notice of Tree Removal" posting shall be placed on the tree. <br /> This notice shall include: <br /> (1) Reasons for the planned removal: <br /> (a) Where photographs and documents supporting this <br /> decision may be viewed: <br /> (b) Name and telephone number of city contact person. <br /> (2) Approximate date of the planned removal <br /> (3) Approximate date and species of replacement trees <br /> d) CITY staff will evaluate all comments received regarding the <br /> proposed tree removal and, if appropriate, make a determination on <br /> its removal. <br /> e) Upon receiving authorization from CITY staff, EWEB will remove the <br /> tree. <br /> f) The tree stump will be removed by the CITY with costs to be <br /> reimbursed by EWEB. <br /> g) In instances where the tree needs to be removed for reasons in <br /> addition to conflict with utility lines, the removal and <br /> replacement costs may be prorated as agreed to by EWEB and CITY <br /> staff on a case by case basis. <br /> E. TREE PLANTING <br /> CITY and EWEB agree that whenever a tree has been removed it is in the best <br /> interest of the community to have replacement trees planted. When a tree has <br /> been allowed to be removed at EWEB's request due to conflict with utility <br /> lines the following replacement criteria will be used: <br /> 1. Two replacement trees shall be planted for each mature street tree <br /> allowed to be removed. Replacement trees shall be planted by CITY with <br /> costs to be reimbursed by EWEB. The City's Urban Forester shall select <br /> the replacement trees from a list of species and caliper which is <br /> developed and agreed on by EWEB and CITY. (SEE ATTACHED LIST) <br /> 2. Replacement trees shall be planted within the right -of -way abutting the <br /> same taxlot as where the mature tree was removed unless deemed <br /> impractical by the Urban Forester.
