l \j C
EUGENE Public Works
Maintenance
City of Eugene
1820 Roosevelt Boulevard
Eugene, Oregon 97402
(541) 682 -4800
August 31, 1999
David Suchart
125 East 8 Avenue
Eugene, Or 97401
Subject: Tree Removal Permit for Juvenile Justice Center
Dear David,
On July 30, 1999, Urban Forestry staff meet with your project staff to discuss construction
activities at the new Juvenile Justice Center on Centennial Boulevard. At that meeting the Urban
Forester was requested to grant a tree removal permit time extension to complete the construction
related tree removal activities at that site.
Consideration of an extension was based on several factors. First was that the removal of these
trees during the scope of construction was anticipated in the permit and in the adopted tree
preservation plan. Second, project staff could show sufficient new trees will be planted to satisfy
the tree preservation plan condition for one -to -one replacement for all trees lost to construction
activities. Third, that all tree protection measures, such as fencing, required in the tree
preservation plan are in place. Fourth, that all conditions of the permit and tree preservation plan
will still be required under an extension.
This letter is your approval for time extension of the tree removal permit for the above -
referenced property until April 30, 2000.
Sincerely,
57/ r
Johnny R.
