We are currently
reviewing, our activities related to this contract. Our records show that 37
street trees have been planted so far. It is always our intent to plant street
trees as homes are built and the planting space in the right -of -way becomes
ready. The planting season also dictates the timing of our planting, and with
the first shipment of trees arriving today in our yard, we plan to install trees
throughout the city until the end of the planting season, April 15
During recent inspections, we have found approximately 15 additional planting
Parks and Open spaces potentially available for installation, with some possibility of other
Space Planning spaces in the right -of -way behind curb -tight sidewalk in the subdivision. The
Parks Maintenance additional trees will be planted before April 15
Urban Forestry The Street Tree Agreement was never intended to represent a set number of
trees. Rather, it establishes a fee paid by the developer to the City that
Wetlands and Open
Waterways relieves the developer of the responsibility to plant street trees in the
subdivision. Thus, the costs were based on an estimate of trees that would be
planted plus an estimate of anticipated mortality within the subdivision.
If you'd like to meet and talk about the program and your subdivision in
particular, I'd be happy to set up a meeting with the Director of the Parks and
Open Space Division, where your concerns could be discussed.
Sincerely,
adt
Mark R.
